Facebook Messenger is very useful when it comes to communicating with your friends. Aside from making a comment to your friends’ status and posts, you can send them private messages. Your private messages can either be for one of your friends or for a group of friends. Sounds great, right?
But sometimes, with so many messages that you receive each day, you might have a hard time reading all of them. This has happened to me once or twice I think. When I checked my private messages, I clicked one of them and opened it. My mistake was I did not read it because something came up that needs my immediate attention. When I got back to my seat, I forgot about my opened messages and continue with my daily internet routine. Little I did know that that message is very important. So when my friend who sent me that message asked me, I was in the dark! It cost me a client.
So the next time I opened a message and not read it fully or I need to get back to it later, I find the “unread” option of Facebook to be very useful.
How-To: Marking a message as "unread" on Facebook?
Log in to your Facebook Account.
Click “Messages”. Once you logged in your Facebook account, you will be led to your newsfeed where the latest activities of your friends are posted. You can find the “Messages” icon at the upper left corner of the screen. You will find the “Facebook” followed by “Contact Request” then the “Messages”. When you found it, click and a drop-down menu will appear. This will show you partially the private messages you received.
Step 3:Open a message.
Click “Actions” button. You can find this at the right upper corner of your screen. It is the “gear” icon with the word “Action”. It is between the “New Messages” and “Search” icon.
Choose “Mark as Unread”. When you click this, it will turn into “Mark as Read”. The messages you marked as unread with turn darker in color to indicate that you haven’t read it yet.
These are just the basic ways on how to mark a message unread. It’s really simple and yet very useful.
