How To Make A Gmail Signature

Email signature is the text that you find at the end of the email having your name, address, website URL, image, or contact information of the sender. It is not necessarily to be the information of the sender; you can also find funny statements, quotes or any kind of text.

Email signature can be set very easily and has reduced the burden of inserting your important information every time you send a new email.

Once the email signature is set in the Gmail, you will find it below the two dashes. When you are about to send an email, you will find your signature in the text-composing box. If you don’t want to use the signature for that particular email, you can also delete it manually. It is up to you to add or delete a signature for an outgoing email.

  1. Log in to your Gmail account. At the right side of the screen, you will find a gear icon, click it and select "Settings" from the drop down menu.

  2. It will take you to a new page that has many other options. When you scroll down on the page, you will find the Signature option with the writing text box.

NOTE: By default on all the email settings of Gmail, Signature is set to no signature option.

  3. Check the option other than the no signature. In the text box you can write your address information or quotes as the way you like it. You will find different options to modify your text; you can change the text style, color, format etc.
  4. To insert an image, click the image icon. A dialogue box will open that will ask for the image URL. Enter your required image URL and it will be added to your signature. If you want to add the URL of your website, you will find its icon just before the image icon. From there, you can add the URL too.

Gmail also gives you the chance to add the signature at top of the email text. You can do this by marking the check box that is present below the text area. You can unmark it if you want your signature below text of the email.

  5. When you complete the editing of your signature, scroll down to save changes. Every signature is automatically inserted to your text-composing area of email. Before sending, you can remove or edit it according to your will for that particular mail. Adding signature at Gmail is really easy; by following these simple steps you can enjoy sending your mail with your signature whenever you want.
